Marie-Amélie Chéreau is today a painter and author.
But before, she had another life. As a young graduate in the 90's – Master's degree in Finance from the University of Paris IX Dauphine, MBA from HEC Paris – she set out to conquer the world with one objective in mind: to become a CEO.
Life, or rather her body, decided otherwise.
After 20 years in high responsibility positions in the luxury industry in Mexico, Europe and Asia, she suffered a violent burn-out in 2014. This confronted her with a painful past and forced her to reinvent her life.
In 2015, she moved to Munich. Writing and painting allowed her to heal back. So did her involvement in support networks for women and for people in emotional distress. She developed the concept of “Transformance” based on the principle of both physical and emotional self-healing, thanks in particular to the brain's plasticity.
In 2018, she published her first novel “Les autruches” – Éditions L'Harmattan. This powerful novel tackles family secrets, the body's memory, and the incredible resilience of the human being. Her second novel, “Le champ des possibles” – Les Editions Persées – is released in 2021. This mystical story with fantastical undertones is a modern time spiritual fairy tale.
At the same time, she reconnects with the young painter she used to be as a child. She paints with a knife, piling up successive layers of oil and/or acrylic, sometimes starting from a collage base. No less than 15 layers are necessary to create a painting. With her knife, she sculpts the thickness of the texture thus formed. She engraves her work in this skin of paint. Through her mostly abstract artwork, she tries to show the invisible, the unity, the immensity of the universe, the divine, and infinite love.
In each canvas, an image emerges by itself: an angel appears, a bird flies through, a gaze comes to life. Something stronger than herself takes over. Her knife becomes the expression of a greater, more powerful message. She watches her hand move across the canvas without understanding what is going on.
Themes of spirituality, law of attraction, and manifestation being at the heart of her artwork, she starts creating personalized vision boards in 2020. These unique pieces of artwork, made from a mixture of collage, oil, and acrylic, represent the dream life of their owners. They thus receive a powerful visual tool to manifest it.
Nothing makes her happier than spreading joy and happiness through her art.
